Couple and individual counseling focused on expanding internal self-compassion and deepening external connection. Let’s give it a chance to grow
My approach
I am trained in and use evidence based models that target emotional experiences to restructure internal and external relationships which naturally activates healing. When doing couple therapy, I blend Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) to foster an environment of safety so people can move deeper into themselves and towards one another allowing for new and life changing bonding experiences. With individuals, I bring an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to welcome all parts of each person as they learn to befriend, understand, embrace, and lead themselves. I tailor my approach to best fit the unique needs and goals of each relationship and each person I work with. To supplement the EFT, IFIO, and IFS that will guide our ongoing treatment, I bring in elements of Nature-Based Therapy and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. Become who you are
Specialized for relationship
If you’re going to do couples counseling, you want to know that the professional guiding your treatment has invested in understanding relational dynamics. I’d recommend for anyone looking for a relational therapist to seek out practitioners who have extensive training in an evidence-based couple counseling model such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I’m partial to EFT as that’s the path I dedicated myself to, but there’s a lot of research that also supports Gottman Method as a couple therapy model as well. It’s not uncommon for therapists to adapt the individual therapy models they’re trained to relationship dynamics. Running shoes might be able to get you through a rough terrain hike, but there are shoes designed entirely for hiking. Right? Couples without a clinical roadmap tend to feel like they are just arguing during session or that the therapist doesn’t really know where to go. Because of the additional training I have in EFT, I’m able hold treatment to a specific and evidenced based road map throughout treatment, regardless of where we are on the map.
